C8 is fast, but tires make a HUGE difference. Every other contending car has stickier tires than this C8, and that is going to be a factor. The C8 could probably shave a second or two off it's lap time with better tires.
It would be much better if a more refined engine.

If this is presented by TireRack, why can't you equalize and standardize the tires? Why let things be up in the air like that? It really doesn't make sense to have one car on street tires and the rest on R compounds. People change tires for track days or whatever reason.
Just remember this is a base car. Need to wait till they test one with better factory suspension, can’t compare it to a Shelby 350 or 500. That’s not base parts. Now enter the dragon, put the zl1 up on the Shelby 350 or 500. Then you get numbers. When the zo6 enters there will not be anything in the same or even double the cost close to it. I have a 2019 zl1 amd eat Shelby 500 s all morning and night. I’m sure there are some faster than mine but not off the shelf.
